About Us Navjivan Nyas Story of Service and Support

Navjivan Nyas is a humble effort to bring care, comfort, and companionship to the elderly who need it most. Founded with love and compassion by Vinayak Kulkarni, the trust has been engaged in charitable activities for over 30 years, helping accident victims, patients in need, and the indigent. Responding to public demand, Devghar Anandashram, a senior citizen care home near Dhayari, Pune, was established 3 years ago to provide a peaceful & supportive environment for the elderly.

Our Journey

As people age, especially after sixty, they often fall ill and need help from others—not always because their families don’t care, but sometimes due to unavoidable circumstances or lack of time. That’s when we formed a group called ‘Ekopaa’—a circle of compassionate individuals brought together by a shared purpose of service. When your intentions are good, you naturally attract good people. That’s exactly what happened.

Whenever someone needed help, Ekopaa stepped in. The group was warmly received and began to grow. During the COVID-19 crisis, many of us suffered—some even lost their lives—but we didn’t lose our courage. We provided daily meals and breakfast to over 60 COVID-affected individuals. We also distributed 250 kg of laddoos and chivda to homeless children living under bridges. All this was possible because of the generous support of a kind-hearted donor and the cooperation of the local police. It made me realize—many people carry burdens far heavier than ours. Their silent stories go untold, but they matter. Understanding these silent sufferings, I started ‘Devghar’, an ashram of joy—a home for the elderly. I personally arranged the planning and funding for this noble venture. I established a trust named ‘NavJeevan Nyas’ (New Life Trust)—to give people a new lease on life after sixty, recognizing that their problems are just like those of any family member.

Even after losing everything, a person can find peace—and we became an example of that truth. Today, by the blessings of Swami Samarth, I am taking care of seven senior citizens at the ashram—wholeheartedly and with full dedication. Devghar is not just an old age home. It’s a living example that a person can live a healthy and happy life even after sixty. Here, abandoned elders have become my family, living, working, and planning their life in joy. All of this is made possible by Swami’s grace, and I believe the divine in my ‘Devghar’ continues to bless and guide me. This is my true reward, my blessing, and my strength.
